First Holiday LO done

I know these photos are a bit blurry, etc, but they capture the moment. Daniel bought a Nerf gun with his pocket money, but had to fight with Scott to play with it. LOL. Isn't it amazing what fun you can come up with when you don't have a computer or PS3 but do have sunshine!

Pocket Money Clipboards

I started making these on hoilday, finally finished them. I wasnted clipboards to alter, but couldn't find any so these are 1/2 a wooden placemat each with a bulldog clip, hopefully they will work. They are to try & keep track of the kids pocket money as we work on a fines system, $1 for lying for example. Daniel is upset they only had girl names in the bling, funnily enough they didn't have mine either. I think they came out nicely. I just need to put a photo of Daniel in his frame. The ribbon on Nicola's photo is so I can take it out & change it. Comments anyone?

Greg Murphy Rules!

I know I'm a few days late, but I just wanted to say I LOVE Greg Murphy. The family enjoyed watching Bathurst on Sunday. It's really funny cos Scott & I are Holden & Murphy fans & Daniel is a Ford & Winterbottom fan; so there was some yelling & arguing in the house on Sunday. LOL I recon if Murph had another lap he could've caught Wincup, if he didn't run out of petrol first! Second was awesome tho! You totally rule Muph!

Our poor baby is sick

Well we got home on thurs night, spent friday doing washing, unpacking, etc. Then the kids went to Nana & Popas for the night & most of the day on Saturday. It was so nice after having a week with no computer, playstation, dvd, daycare, etc, to have some quiet time without the kids. We went to town to get some new shoes for Scott (the kids would have loved that, NOT!) Anyway when we picked the kids up they were really happy, but by the time we got home Nicola said she wasn't feeling good. I undid her seatbelt & got her out of the car and she threw up in the garage. Poor wee thing. This went on all night, we felt so sorry for her. On Sunday she seemed ok, she wasn't throwing up anymore, just a little dopy & clingy. Monday she was back to normal, yay!!! So off she went to daycare. Monday night Scott started being sick, can't have been anything Nicola ate then. Tuesday Scott was at home dying, Nicola was at daycare back to her usual self. Then on Tuesday night she started again!!!!! So here I am at home with a sick child, while Scott is at work (he's still not good, but they NEED him), with a pile of washing, & other cleaning that needs to be done. I am just hoping that Daniel & I don't catch it too. It's my birthday tomorrow & we were going out on Saturday night, but we will have to see how everyone is.......................................

Napier Holiday

Well we finally went back to the Bay for a visit; our first holiday & visit since leaving 3 years ago. The trip didn't start well with a cycling race on the Napier/Taupo road on the first day of the school holidays!!!!!! and the kids were so excited they kept asking how much further it was.......we were hoping they would go back to sleep which is why we left early in the morning, but it didn't work.

The weather was beautiful (as usual) but a bit cold & windy. Scott & Daniel went fishing off the wharf one day, Daniel loved it & told everybody else how good he was cos he caught the biggest sprat. Nicola & I went to the shops instead. It's fun looking at other scrapbooking shops, they have different stock. Loved Hastings Rubber Stamps & Scrapbook Corner. Got heaps of paper & a few other little things. I haven't been scrapbooking shopping for a awhile so it was fun. Found some stuff they had sold out of here.
The kids were really good, playing nicely together; they even made friends with the kids in the flat next door. They painted their doorhangers I bought for them to do if it rained. They got tired of waiting for the rain LOL!!!
We went up Te Mata Peak for dinner one night (see Scotts blog for pics from there). Went to the Aquarium which is still better than Kelly Tarltons & half the price! We drove around & looked at our houses, Daniel's kindy, my work, etc. This is our Clive house we built, the new owners have done alot of gardening.

We also visited Paul, Renee, Maddy, & Liam who live in Havelock North. They moved to the Bay at the same time as us. They were in the same ante-natal class as us. (Maddy & Daniel are the same age), so it was good to catch up with them, but we couldn't find any of our other friends down there.
Daniel wrote in the guest book:
Well we decided to come home a bit earlier than planned. The kids made huts in the back of the car on the way home, so the journey home was far more pleasant.

Olympics are finished!

Phew! That was a long 6 weeks. Heaps of fun & challenging, but also very time consuming. Got a pile of pics that have been neglected over the past 6 weeks & the holiday shots will need to be done.
Week six was archery, we have to use 3 consentric circles (bull's eye) & an arrow. These are the only 2 photos I have of me playing softball for Howick when I was 9 (hubby didn't even know I did). The big arrow points to the ball. Journalling reads "When I was 9 I played Softball for Howick. It would have helped me a great deal if there was a giant arrow pointing to the ball, but unfortunately not. I could hardly see the ball to either catch or hit it. I only got my glasses part way through the season and I was so paranoid about breaking them that I hardly wore them."
