Phew... Finished!

I bought this Buzz & Bloom overlay at scrap camp & knew exactly what I wanted to do with it, however doing it was a little trickier than expected. They are photos of Scott & I when we were first going out, we were so cute! They are carefully cut & glued under or over the hearts. It took ages to find pics that would fit. I had to add some bling of'course!

Daniel got his glasses today. He looks really nice in them & he has already noticed things he didn't know he couldn't see before. Poor thing! So hopefully he will do better at school now that he will be able to see the board. Daniel, Nana(my mum) & I were playing games to see who could read the furthest away with & without our glasses on, lots of fun. LOL! Will get a pic of him ASAP.

I'm famous!

I'm on the NZ Scrapbook blog! I'm so proud! LOL. I was the last one working cos I was not going home until I had finished, the others had packed up to go shopping, but not me! I am very happy with the result tho. The LO is not 'me' which is why I like to go to those things, to do something different.

Money, Money, Money!!!!

Daniel's teacher recons he can't see the board in class so we took him to the optomertrist. The poor thing!!! He can only see about a meter infront of him!!! This might explain his "unco-ordination" with sport etc, he can only see the ball when it is almost on top of him. Kids glasses seem to be like bikinis, the less there is the more they cost!!!! He has a stigmatism in his left eye that they have caught early enuff to be able to fix, at the cost of $200 every 2 months!!! I let him choose which ever frames he wanted, he has to waer them so he needs to like them. He chose these cool blue metalic flexible ones (the most expensive) but they are able to take the new lenses with out being replaced.
We still haven't finished paying for his speach threopy or his dentist bill......

"Money, money, money, must be funny in a rich mans world......"

Yay! $2 shop!!

Don't we look cool? I had heaps of fun finding our costumes & it's AMAZING what u can get at the $2 shops! Had a fun time drinking (more than ever before) & dancing to the 80's music. I enjoyed the 80's more this time round!! They had '16 Candles', 'St. Elmos Fire' & 'the breakfast Club' movies playing in the background. They were only missing 'Werid Sceince', LOL! Most of the guest got into the spirit & dressed up, so that was good.
Took mum to NZ Scrapbook in Wairau Park; she hadn't been there before & she wanted some stuff for her Cuttlebug (that we got her for Mothers Day). Nicola was an angel playing with the toys & 'cooking' us 'dinner' (rice, noodles & chicken). I got a few things too.......

Party time!

We are going to an 80's fancy dress party on Saturday night. I am so excited! I have my costume all sorted out, I am doing Cindy Lauper & Scott is going as Axel Rose. But no, I am not going to die my hair orange again, it was not a good look!!! Just bought some colour hairspray from the $2 shop, didn't show up on my hair, but it did on Daniels!!!!!! I chased him around with the can, he's not impressed & has just got out of shower from washing it off. Naughty mummy! LOL!!! I wasn't fast enuff to get a photo.

Funeral today

Well we left home at 7:10am, Nicola & I were still half asleep. Daniel just needed promise of Mcdonalds for breakfast & he was out the door waiting in the car for us. Got to the church just in time for the coffin to arrive. Freaky!!! It both did & didn't look like her, I kept thinking I could see her breathing. Daniel didn't want to see her & we didn't force him, Nicola did.

Nicola made my heart break:
Nicola "Mopsie died"
Me "yes"
Nicola "When is she going to wake up?"
Me "She's not"
Nicola "Yes, she's sleeping"
Me "No, she's dead"
Nicola "But she IS going to wake up"
This conversation went back & forth for awhile , getting nowhere. Do you think a 4 year old can understand a sermon about the resurection? In the end we decided on a compromise.
Me "Yes, she is going to wake up, but not for a very long time."
Nicola "When she is zero?"
Me "Yes" (Tired & upset about this conversation by now). She was happy then & went to play in a make-believe house.

Daniel was reading, he loves his books, so he missed half of everything. But he is very sensitive & when he did raise his nose from his book it was to have a good cry, then he went back to reading!

It still doesn't feel real, everyone said it would at funeral. But at least I don't feel horrible about being excited about camp now.

Human yo-yo here

One minute I'm upset about Nana, the next I'm excited about camp. LOL!!!

So some decisions have been made; I am not doing a reading, but am gonna be a pall-bearer from hearse to gravesite (scarey!). We are not going to see the coffin open. Now what to wear & what are the kids gonna wear? Do you still do all black these days?

I have finished one of the Layouts for camp, I like it. I used those lovely new Bohemian Kaiser papers. The theme is "How to look good naked" No I am not totally naked in the pics!! Got another one to do at camp. Done washing for camp, but still can't find my fav track pants!!!

Packing up Nana's things

Yesterday we went up to Nana's house to help with sorting out her stuff. It was horrible, I kept looking for her. The kids seem to be ok tho. I got rather emotional at one stage when we were all called into her kitchen for lunch but she wasn't there!!!! The funeral is on Wed at 11am in Wellsford, so we will have to leave home pretty early to get there & organised. I am not a morning person either. (understatement of the year!!!!!)

Today we went to see Baby Cousin Peter cos it's his first birthday tomorrow & I feel like it is being forgotten about in all the funeral arrangements. At least he's to little to notice. I made him a canvas of his name for his room, got to use my new stamps from USA (yay!!!). Made 5 seperate ones, rather than 1 big one so Adele (my-sis-in-law) can decide on how much room they take up, vertical, horizontal, etc. The tag on the 'r' is my new stamp, says 'prepare to be amazed'.

Found a nice pic of Daniel at Christmas. He was playing with his new Lego, nothing else mattered, that was all he wanted.

Hmmmmm........

So I just pre packed for camp & I'm up to my 27kg & I don't have any clothes yet!!!!!!!! So what am I gonna leave behind? I am only taking 'the bare essentials' as it is. I could possibly live without my ribbons, but then how heavy would they be? Think I might have to go thru my 3kg of paper............ Don't need make-up do I? Decisions, decisions.......
